Christopher Sykes

Christopher founded Charlesworth Sykes in 2005 and serves as the company’s Chairman. He has over thirty five years’ experience working in Asia. He started his career in the Colonial Service in Hong Kong and then served as a diplomat in HM Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

In the private sector, Christopher worked in financial services before moving into executive recruitment with two of the leading retained search companies. A natural resource consulting arm of Charlesworth Sykes was added in 2007 specialising in China’s investment drive overseas. In 2016, in response to the requirements of certain multinational clients, a strategy and risk mitigation offering was started. This has become the principal driver of the business today.

Christopher has lectured on Anglo-Sino relations at Cambridge, Beijing and Zhongshan Universities.  He holds an MA in Chinese from Cambridge University and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Lachlan Sykes

Lachlan is Director of Operations and joined Charlesworth Sykes in 2016. He started his career in the in-house legal department of a multinational property business. He then joined a leading London-based corporate intelligence firm where he spent several years working on enhanced due diligence projects and dispute resolution strategy. Lachlan holds an MA in Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin and has been called to the bar of England and Wales.

Susan Woods

Susan has been Head of Research at Charlesworth Sykes since 2006.  She has over 25 years’ experience managing research projects and executive search assignments across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions.  She has particular expertise in the areas of asset management, private and investment banking and Board level operations directors. She holds a BA in History from the University of Leicester.

Jeremy Cheuk

Jeremy is a Senior Advisor and has over 20 years of experience covering areas of investment banking, executive search and direct investments across the Asia Pacific region. He has previously worked with major wall street banks specialising in debt capital markets and interest rate derivatives. He later moved to Shanghai and served as Head of Financial Services for a global retained executive search company. Most recently, he has co-founded two digital media companies in China and currently serves as a Board Member of Julien’s International Entertainment Group (TW 6595). Jeremy holds a BSc Economics Degree from University of London (SOAS) and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
